They Were On A Boat Enjoying The Day When They Saw This Freaky Thing Approaching

If there's one cryptid that seems to have exhausted the interest of the public, it's the Loch Ness Monster. Old Nessie has led researchers on what seems like a wild goose chase for close to 100 years. Still, there are those who will never give up the search for the monster of Loch Ness, Scotland. However, for the rest of us, maybe we should start looking at the lochs in Ireland for some new monsters.

This footage from 2013 shows the Nessie-like hump of a creature approaching a small boat in Lough Foyle, also known as Loch Foyle, in Northern Ireland. The creature is seen approaching one boat in a relatively straight line before disappearing beneath the surface.

Nigerian 'witch child' left for dead makes incredible recovery after rescue by Danish care worker

Danish aid worker Anja Ringgren Lovén has seen some horrible things, but when she came across one little boy in Nigeria, she was beyond shocked

While working for an aid organization to bring food to southern Nigeria, she came across an emaciated little boy roaming the streets. The two-year-old orphan was naked, riddled with worms and close to death due to starvation and thirst.

In the heart-breaking video of the encounter, the disoriented little boy was too weak to stand after Anja gave him a sip of water. As he kept falling over, she asked why no one was feeding the child. The locals responded, "no mother, no father."

That’s when Anja pieced together the toddler's nightmarish situation. Like thousands of other Nigerian children, he had been abandoned by his family after being accused of witchcraft.

Anja took in the small boy and named him Hope.

We're very happy to report that since his rescue from the streets in January of this year, Hope is now a healthy and happy boy. Being rejected by your own family must be the loneliest feeling a child can experience, but he's found a new loving family now at an orphanage recently opened by Anja.

Hope is all smiles these days.

Surgeons Used To Split Brains For Epilepsy Treatment, And Here's Why That's So Freaky

If there's one thing you can say about medical science, it's that we develop new treatments at an almost incomprehensibly fast pace. That being said, state-of-the-art medical treatments today might be considered brutal a few short decades from now.


For evidence of this axiom, we need only look back at how we used to treat diseases like epilepsy. Doctors used to opt for a type of brain surgery that involved severing the neural connection between the two hemispheres of the brain.

Fittingly, the procedure was known as split-brain surgery.

The process involved opening up a patient's brain and severing the corpus callosum, which is the main connection between the two hemispheres. With this connection gone, not only were symptoms of epilepsy reduced, but other strange things began to happen, like the development of split-brain syndrome.

Researchers Michael Gazzaniga and Roger W. Sperry were among the first physicians to study split-brain syndrome, and their findings were pretty disturbing.

What they found is that individuals with split-brain syndrome, because the different sides of the brain weren't communicating, developed what seemed like split personalities. The left side of the brain would give orders that reflected the person's rational goals, and the right side of the brain would issue conflicting orders that revealed the person's hidden desires

While these developments are rare, they do happen. Luckily, split-brain surgery is now only a last resort for treating epilepsy and it's safer than it used to be.

This Looks To Be The Clearest Footage Of A Triangle UFO To Date, And It's Scary

For anyone who pays attention to visits from our alien neighbors, you know that UFOs come in a variety of shapes and sizes. First, there's the classic saucer UFO, and then there's the iconic (but mysterious) cigar-shaped UFO. Some speculate that these cigar UFOs are motherships of some sort. Strangest of all, however, are triangle UFOs.


Usually, the shape is inferred by the arrangement of lights on the underside. To UFO researchers, triangle UFOs are certainly the most mysterious and the most threatening. In recent years, the number of triangle UFOs spotted has skyrocketed. The most recent sighting of a triangle UFO occurred over Charlottesville, Virginia. Luckily, the person who spotted the craft had their camera on hand.

Researchers are calling this the clearest triangle UFO footage they've ever seen.

Of course, there is always the possibility that this video is fake, or that what we're seeing isn't actually a UFO. It's easy for your imagination to start running wild with footage like this, but that just makes keeping a level head all the more important.

Something Went Wrong And This Dive Killed Him...They Still Haven't Found His Body

When trying to pull off an incredible stunt, you have to expect that something might go wrong. The only bad part is that things going wrong could lead to your demise. Despite the risk of death or severe bodily harm, people still attempt to act like daredevils. Usually, everything is fine...until it isn't. Take, for example, the story of Slovenian diver Andrej Beuc.

Earlier this month, Beuc died while attempting to dive off of a bridge into the Drina River -- which is on the border of Bosnia and Serbia -- during a diving competition.

The bridge (pictured below) was about 60 feet from the water and normally would have been an easy dive for Beuc, who was an experienced jumper and skydiver.

However, something went wrong when he hit the surface of the water.

Beuc was able to get his head above water and signal that he needed help before slipping back below the surface.

Divers were quickly dispatched to find Beuc, but the strong current and muddy waters continue to make things difficult for rescue crews as they work to recover his body.

They Thought They Were Alone At The Beach But They Were Clearly Very Wrong

Ghosts just seem to love walking into the backgrounds of our most beautiful pictures. Really, this has been an issue since the dawn of modern photography. Back then, though, you could pass off a strange shadow on the wall as a problem with the camera or an error during development.

Now, however, it's not so simple. Every person's smartphone is pretty much a professional-grade camera. When a ghost shows itself in one of those photos, you can hardly make the argument that the phone is defective.

Take these images, for example. This series of low-light photos was taken with an iPhone in Redington Beach, Florida. The couple in this picture was on vacation and wanted to commemorate the perfect sunset with a photo or two.

Before posing, however, they switched the phone into low-light mode and took a few test shots to make sure it was working. When they looked through them later, they saw something they hadn't noticed before. Do you see it?

That is certainly the shape of a human standing in the waves.

While the presence of it was creepy enough, even creepier was the fact that it simply disappeared into thin air by the time the next photograph was taken. What the hell was that thing?
